Ember - Winged Khutit concept. Main Page - Ember's Page

This isn't too far off from the Khutit featured in Horizons. It's a bipedal dragon. In the game, they don't feature wings, so I wanted to draw one with wings. Normally I'll avoid drawing something more or less directly from another art source, but I was curious. I still have to do Leillani's dragon concept, and that one is going to be a lot of creative fun. Heck, I want to redo Vidken and Solar. I'm going to be sick of drawing dragons by the time this is over.

Stick says you're supposed to draw something you want to draw well so much that you get sick of it. Yay!

I went clean with this drawing. Used 4H for the underskeleton and basic outline, and HB for the second pass. This turned out cleaner than my other sketches. The only things I can find off-hand which aren't right is that this guy is missing his hand claws, and his (HIS) left pinky toe is a bit off.

I found the picture confusing to look at, so I shaded the further geometry. As far as I know this is a quick way to add a little depth.

I really like how you added a darker value to the items further behind. It does give the picture a lot more depth that way. I believe it's called "forced atmospheric perspective" or something. We know that as things go way further back in space, they kinda fade, so it works with our pictures like that.

I don't like touching on anatomy because I don't know too much about it, but the big thing that stands out as, perhaps, "wrong" in this picture is that his hips are very thin. In depth, I mean.

Great picture, though. I'm happy that you've been updating so much. I need to get on the ball, too. Gimpystick has been rather quiet overall, but it was originally meant for two. So how 'bout you and me play this game.
