I paged through various references and assembled two interpretations of velociraptors.

This was more of an anatomical/memory study than value practice. I like how the tail on the lower one came out.

In all the images I've seen, these guys don't seem to have a particularly fabulous selection of poses. I tried a custom pose skeleton on the lower before drawing what's really there, and it just felt really off. The next time I play with these guys I could try a mid-pounce pose and a scene with hatchlings interacting with their mother.

Then again, I could draw a raptor sitting in a chair sipping on a cup of tea, but I have a feeling I'd be breaking something anatomically. ;)

Well, I have no knowledge what-so-ever of velociraptor anatomy, but I'm pretty sure that the bottom one's claw's are a tad bit too long. I'm sure that your ever-observant eye caught this long before me, though. ;)

I *do* know that I despise anything that'd rather eat me than not, so velociraptors fall into that category. :-P

The one on the bottom is good at tickle torture! Well, torture being the operative word.

I messed up the joins on that hand anyway. D:

I never commented on this one and I don't have much time right now, so I'll just say they look great, and the head on the top guy looks a bit flat, like he doesn't have a noticable skull.

Oh, no, here I go. :(

It looks like next semester they're going to teach us all about bones, and then muscles. The bones define the structure of the form, and they don't bend, they just move. The muscles define the subtilties of the form.

Of course, we're going to be playing with human anatomy next semester. Animal anatomy isn't until next year, and I don't think we'll be going over dinosaurs.
