| cool dragon, the head's a little un-detailed but the lower body detail is awesome! |

| Yeah, I couldn't think of anything I could add to his head, detail wise, which is why it doesn't have any...but thanks! |

If you're looking for a way to add more detail, then never be afraid to look in nature! You've got webs and horns from lizards, you've got antenna and eyestalks from insects, you've got horns and antlers from moose and elk and deer and jackalopes, and all kinds of other things. Angler fish, or lobster, or -- hey! You can even look at other people's art. Gimpystick doesn't have an enormous selection to look from, but our resident creepy-stuff artist Smight has added bits and pieces to his characters since the beginning: [url] You don't need to COPY it, but you can get inspiration from horns or webbing or whatever else happens to be attached.
Since I was pulled back to this old image, let me give a quick critique.
I really like how you've put in depth into this piece. The overlapping bends you added in the tail, as well as the way the claws move forward in space by overlapping.
If you could do something like that on the head, which appears much flatter than the fingers do, it would help out a lot. |
