For those of you who dont play C&C Tiberian Sun

Thought it would be cool to draw one, I think I did pretty good on the lightning, and the Tiberium Crystals. |

I'm gonna go ahead and say this, because I don't think anyone else has, and it's probably the biggest problem I've noticed with your art.
Your pictures need depth, they're almost entirely 2D, and while that's fine for cartoon characters and such, it doesn't work for landscapes.
Try some shading and distance drawing next time, and then redraw this, because with the way it's done now, everything in the picture looks like it's one the same plane, and all cluttered together without and depth. |

That's a very good observation, and I'm sure the question to answer now is "how?"
[url] - This method explains it a bit complicated-like.
[url] - This contains more information than you'll be willing to read through, no doubt.
[url] - This also explains stuff, but it seems poorly done.
I'm not even going to bother to link to about.com's horrible explanation.
Holy cow! Is there not one perspective tutorial on the internets that actually uses -pictures- to teach? What kind of manman uses -words- to teach how to do art?
If you ever come back, Sith (we miss you!) let me know if you can't figure it out with the tutorials above and I'll make a tutorial for you and refine it until you can easiliy understand. |
