"My computer broke," he says, so I stumble after him for more details. Typical things -- bluescreen, won't boot anymore, etc. Then as we get to his room he rushes out the door and says, "Gotta go help dad before he runs that car into a tree." So I stumble into his room and boot. One of the HDs isn't being auto-detected. I'm trying to pry the case open when he comes back in and says, "Nevermind. He was trying to run it into a tree." I fiddled with the ribbon cable and his HD started working again, but this isn't the first time it's given problems and I already replaced the last ribbon cable with a factory sealed one, so his hard drive may be dying. And my dad successful ran the car into a tree. The end. PS: That's how you put bumpers on some cars apparently. Monday, March 6th, 2006 - 10:36pm - [Direct Link] I added quotes in the upper right. They're from my own collection, which is taken from random people and places. Some are unique, most are not. Rather than refreshing this page a lot, if you simply must see them all at once, please do so here. Thursday, March 2nd, 2006 - 5:48am - [Direct Link] Comcast (my internet provider) is sending me emails about changing my connection to DHCP. Well... it is because that's what it's always been. However, in the past Comcast has always had "persistant" DHCP. That is, as long as you have the same Mac address and your old IP is still available, they would give you the same IP you had previously. This makes it easier to do things like host a website because your IP doesn't change but once in a year, if that. If Comcast changes their setup to be more dynamic and my IP starts changing every couple days I'm not going to be able to host this site out of my home anymore. What does this mean to you? A day or two of downtime, depending on how quickly I move my stuff to a new server. Nothing serious. I'm going to try to get in contact with Comcast and see exactly what they're planning and move my stuff earlier if I need to and minimize downtime. Not that they like to inform their customers, but you never know. Wednesday, March 1st, 2006 - 7:37am - [Direct Link] I think it's about time I start up Trivium and the Morrowind Comic again. My little stress/sick/whatever escapade has kind of died down, and now I'm merely busy. And I'd like to continue them, but if I don't start up soon I'm going to forget how to do them. I don't like deferring things. When I put something off, I tend to either forget about it, or find other reasons to put it off. I have reasons not to be able to finish a Trivium today, but I'm going to set the goal that before I fall asleep tonight I will have a Trivium inked and uploaded for your viewing pleasure. Wish me luck! Tuesday, February 14th, 2006 - 4:02am - [Direct Link] Last week hard drive crash, this week car crash. Luckily, it wasn't my car. Nor was it me driving. So what happens when you mix freezing hail rain, a sharp turn, and a ditch? A sore neck and a few hundred dollars worth of damage. Ba-dum-ching! Oh wait. That wasn't funny. Friday, February 10th, 2006 - 3:09pm - [Direct Link] I got my news engine shelled out in a basic form, all the main news posts thrown in it, and fun stuff like that. I'd like to thank Kaelira for helping me with the colors and layout. I've always had a problem with colors. I've been afraid to update because the main page was getting long and I didn't really want to delete all the old stuff to make room for new ones. So now I can create a news archive page when I have time and only show so many on one page. Thursday, December 1st, 2005 - 8:00pm - [Direct Link] I need to create my "links" page some day.
